Hi,  This is saurabh Modi & want to brief you about one & only hill station of Gujarat. i.e Saputara. It is located at 1000 m altitude in Dang district.

 

Most of people say that sapuatara is only 1 day trip but it is not like that. You cann explore it atleast 2 days if you are roudi

About Saputara: Saputara has been developed by tourism department of Gujarat as a planned hill resort with all required amenities.

Distance from Different cities:

From Surat- 156 Km

From Vadodara- 287 Kms

From Ahmedabad- 400 Kms.

From Shirdi- 150 Kms

Most favorable season: Monsoon

                I started my trip in morning at 5.00 A.M. in morning so possibly reached at 8.00 A.M. at Gira dhodh located at bottom of saputara & let me tell you, you can experience wonderful road with great sceneries.

              You can go on bike like bullet, it will be very thrilling experience.

              First thing which you can visit is Gira dhodh, great quantity of water will be available in monsoon season. You can spend a great time while sitting in water.

 

 

About Accomodation: As sapuatara is developed Hill station, Number of options are available for stay in all budgets. I have listed below each 7 every hotel details but in addition several guest houses are also situated in sapuatara.

Most of people prefer to go after doing online booking as if you go directly to hotel they will say you much higher tariff.

For Food also You don't need to worry as several hotel like Sugar N spice, several dhabas are available. we enjoyed Maggi, Poha , Chinese & all. There are non veg options as well.

Things to do In saputara

1) Saputara Lake & Boating: Very nice boating facility is developed at saputara at very convenient price. approx. price 100 Rs for 2 persons.

one can have his desired food like pani puri, softy, popcorn at boating point & in evening lot of people is there.

2 ) Step Garden & parks - No entry charge for this wonderful garden. very good pictures can be clicked from here.

Another attraction of opposite to step garden is Chacha's Emporium where lot of antic things are available.

3) Saputara Tribal Museum: Museums are always very bored kind of thing but if you h=going just once & are never to go again then you can have a look in it.

4) Governor’s Hill: The main attraction of saputara is governor's hill. lot of adventure activities, biking activities, horse ride, camel ride took place on governor's hill at very cheapest rate.

you will find number of varitiey bikes of evry small size with engine of scooty. I fall in love on its drive & most amazing thing is it is available at just 20 rs for 1 round.

5) Hatgad Fort: It is situated on Gujarat- Maharashtra Border and it can be used for trekking purpose

If you have planned for sapuatara for 2-3 days then Saptashringi- 65 Km from Saputara should be visited. It is not that much tourist place but still you can go t shirdi as well as shaptashringi mata temple.

HERITAGE SITE NEAR VADODARA- CHAMPANER

A DAY VISIT TO CHAMPANER NEAR VADODARA, PANCHMAHAL DISTRICT.

Hi, This is Saurabh modi, today I want to tell you about my 1 day visit to Champaner & pavagadh.

              

                 Its a great heritage site of our Gujarat. Me & my wife decided to go suddenly to champaner for some good pictures & to enjoy monsoon weather.

 

            For Barodians, its a picnic spot as it is located just at 35 Kms from Vadodara with good road connectivity.

           So, starting the trip reaching champaner in Morning at 9.00 A.M., We find one security cabin to collect entry fees.

Entry Fees- 30 Rs / Person, which will be valid for all places you visit.

 

 Once you enter you can click picture with Masjid at your background so, 30 Rs totally paisa Vasool.

  As soon as you enter you can see History plate written at entry of it with all details about the masjid which will give you feel of Rajasthan Forts in Vadodara only.

 

CONSTRUCTION HISTORY:

• Founded by Vanraj Chavda, king of the Chavda Dynasty, in the 8th century.
• Its name was given from friend Champa, also known later as Champaraj.
• By the later 15th century, Chauhan Rajputs held Pavagadh fort above Champaner Town.

WAR HISTORY OF CHAMPANER:

                     . The young Sultan of Gujarat, Mahmud Begada, deciding to attack Champaner, started towards it with his army on 4 December 1482. He defeated the Champaner army, Mahmud covered town &cut off all necessary supplies to  Pavagadh fort situated, above Champaner, where king Jayasimha was staying.

 

                       He covered the Pavagadh fort on 21 November 1484, after 20 months and then spent 23 years in rebuilding, developing Champaner, and he renamed Muhammadabad, after which he moved the capital there from Ahmedabad.

                      

                       In 1535, forced  Bahadur Shah to leave, Humayun personally used  300 Mughals to scale / reconstruct the fort on spikes driven into rock and stonework in unguarded part of the fort built over hillside on Pavagadh Hill.

 

                        Large amount of gold,silver and jewels were the war booty even though Bahadur Shah had managed to escape with a lot.

 

TODAY:

 Champaner is today Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, UNESCO approved World Heritage Site in 2004 year.

 

                       After Visiting this first Masjid, we move forward to JAMA MASJID & let me tell you it was a great scene.

 So, wondering inside Masjid will give you very good feel & if it is Monsoon then a great experience.

 

In addition to all this pictorial views , you will find monkeys as well.

 

After visiting this masjid there are other masjids as well total there are 5 Masjids but it will be possible to visit all if you have bike as roads go through Farms but you can easily visit all places.
